Based in Brightlingsea near Colchester, Roman River Gundogs is a small family run kennels with over 20 years experience in training spaniels, retrievers and H.P.R.S for the shooting field. We also cater for other breeds and offer obedience training and behavioural consultations.
Trainer Andy Waterhouse is an A Panel Spaniel judge who competes at the highest level. Andy has made up both Springer and Cocker Spaniel Field Trial Champions.
We train to the highest possible standards as can be seen by our success with both our own and our clients dogs. As such the way we start with new clients and puppies is different to most other trainers. We concentrate on developing the bond between handler and dog and will not put new dogs and puppies in group situations until they are ready. For these reasons, we will not run puppy group classes, as although they do help with socialisation, they do not aid the training standards we hope to achieve
